Gleeson Homes already had permission for more than 200 homes at Barnburgh Lane which they had sold out. Now, they are set to be accepted for an additional 68 homes to be added, all of the properties including two to four bedrooms.
Members of the public are said to be concerned about draining issues due to the increase of homes and believe that adding more traffic will be "more dangerous" to the community.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Gleeson is going to provide more than £380,000 to contribute to schools in the local area. Around £126,000 of that pot will be used on off-site open spaces and around £50,000 will be used to fund sustainable travel in the Goldthorpe area.
